Thanks! I should have specified it was meant to be in Higgins' voice :)

Higgins: Really, Magnum! You leave Mr. Masters' waffle iron out in the elements again!?

Magnum: Higgins, I can explain!! You see, right after breakfast this Sumo wrestler and a dwarf showed up out of nowhere...

Higgins: *eye roll* then immediately breaks fourth wall. :D

There is a woman (Laura Goode) posting about privacy issues on SoCal Drone's youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo3hAxYv3Fk&t=1s) because her sister & family are living in the gatehouse as caretakers. She goes on to say that "the house was falling down and dangerous. The original owner was pushing 90 years old, became a hoarder and could no longer manage."

She's wrong, Eve will be 80 this year, but whatever. On a side note I find it odd that she's complaining about the privacy of her sister & family and she's busy posting private info about someone else. Nice.

I agree RG, a bit of a double standard......it appears Mrs. Goode is not so good....don't mess with Eve, especially with the gang at MM watching!
I wonder if she will stab the new owners in the back as well.....Who owns the place Nesbitt/Obama? Are they knocking down the guest and boat houses? What are they build for the new main house? I'm sure they know a little something. I bet she would open up if asked. Does anyone want to go undercover? :luther:

Obama's architect (ok maybe Nesbitt but I think it's Obama all the way) Dean Sakamoto posted this to Instagram as Pahonu's demo was underway...

My Pahonu wrote:Funny how there are no markings on any of the vehicles or equipment used for the demo. I was hoping to get a name and contact them for a piece of rubble. I have an email into the construction company listed on the permit for the demo companies name. So far not a word.

Anyone know what aggregate would have been used in 1930's Hawaiian concrete?

Socal drone, I would love to see all the stills from the flight. You could crop out all but the demo area specific. Yes?
Based on the permit, it listed asbestos and lead.

Paint before 1978 is automatically assumed lead based. Older structures with old cement, tiles, insulation, wall paper, plaster, roof sealant just to name a few are also assumed asbestos if built before the 60's. On old home like Robins nest had to be chock full of both.

The odd part is if you remodel, you have to do very expensive abatement if you want to open a wall to add electrical/data... or if you have to demo due to termites or rot. However if you outright demolish in many cases you do no abatement. But you have to take it to a specialized "recycling" facility, which in many cases the materials are just dumped into a land fill and then covered.

Demolition companies are warned about taking remnants from older buildings due to lead and asbestos. And I would bet since the building was basically a celebrity itself, the city warned the contractor to get in and get out quick and do not keep mementos.

That being said, check Craigslist and E-Bay. I guarantee chunks will show up eventually.

Here is another thread in Magnum Mania Talk that would be better suited here.
It shows Pahonu completely knocked down....

Maybe if one is so concerned about one's privacy, one shouldn't become employed as a caretaker at a world famous property.

Just sayin.

So where is that 2500 square foot basement that was supposedly there?
