Welcome Commandress!
Five words, tough . . . I watch Magnum now with a much different eye than I did in it's initial run. What was a fun detective show then, I now see the theme of healing Thomas was going through. It lost it's way a bit after the first few seasons, but came back on course towards the end.

ConchRepublican, that echoes my own feelings. When I was young, MPI seemed to be a standard '80s boys' show - and for girls with a crush on Tom Selleck.
But I came across it again in 2002 when I was going thru some bad times and found I really related to its healing and friendship, etc. It didn't take me long to become hooked!
Not that I'm going to go on about “the good old days”!

That's it in a nutshell... with MPI, even with the bad episodes (and there are a few) I found I'd still watch because it was always good to see what was happening to Magnum, Higgins, Rick and TC.Jay-Firestorm wrote:In MPI, I really believed in what was going on and cared for the characters; most TV nowadays just doesn't do that for me.
