Whatever stipend The Dowager Lady Anderson received during the Hawaii 5-0 and Magnum years certainly kept the property in tip top shape, and I am pretty sure that the Production Companies paid for and probably closely supervised the upkeep. She should be happy that they were around to do that, not regret it (and I am hoping that she doesn't regret it).

While I'm a strong proponent of the idea that she should embrace the estate's legendary past, I believe that her wanting to distance herself from that history is due largely in part to fans trying to access the property. (How's that for a run-on sentence?) It still is a private residence, and as such she deserves her privacy. However to deny the die-hard fans their Mecca is I feel misguided. Who among us wouldn't pay $20, $50 or $100. for the chance to spend a few hours on the grounds? I'm not suggesting she open her house to fans. Frankly since interiors weren't used on the show I for one have little more than a passing interest, mild curiosity in what's inside. I realize liability issues would be huge, but think of the money that could be contributed to maintenance and upkeep through "donations" from fans who merely want to walk on the same lawn as TM Higgins, and the Lads. Maybe she should use volunteers to conduct semi-guided appointment only tours of the grounds. I think it's what I'd do if I owned the property. I'd at least embrace the TV connection to the property, and not pretend it never happened.

Hey Sam, you amaze me . That picture of Rick and the Uzi was exactly the picture I had in my head when I typed that line. GET OUTA MY HEAD!!!

When I dropped by the estate in April 2008, there was a dog show on as well. It wasn't just pugs though, all sorts of dogs. It was cool because the gates were open and there wasn't anyone standing 'guard'. I was able to get a good peek at the grounds, but didn't want to interrupt the party so I held back. My advice for getting a tour of Robin's Nest: bring fido.
