Mike,

He gave no indication about nor said anything with reference to the belt buckle. Since he did have and showed us the rings, the MIA bracelet, Raybans, etc., I think if he had the belt buckle, he would have shown it to us.

I got the impression he wanted to sell everything at one time to one person, not auction items off one at a time. I have not been able to contact him for several months (won't answer email, hangs up on me when I call); therefore, I no longer have any idea about his plans. To my knowledge, he still has everything he showed to us. But then he could have sold it to someone who wanted it all, and we just don't know it. Again, to my knowledge, none of the things we saw have shown up on eBay.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance. I wish he WOULD contact me because I know of someone who might buy the whole kit-and-kaboodle.

BTW, there's another episode where the broken/glued AAPI award appears in the background, sitting Higgins in front of it in the guest-house, i am just looking through my archive for the epsiode-name.

I'm really sorry too hear that. I hope he's not upset that you posted pictures. It has been strongly insinuated by reliable sources that certain items were stolen from the Diamond Head facility, however I really don't see how that could harm him due to the fact you never revealed his true identity, if you knew it, which I'm sure you didn't .

Do you know which episode TM's Ray Bans got broken in? I should know this.

Solo Flight, look as Magnum frees himself from under the airplane and the two hunters are about to shoot as he comes out from behind the bush, zoom in on his glasses, they're broken then although he's still wearing them.
It made me do it Higgins!!!

Okay, That's what threw me. I assumed it was Solo Flight, but I did remember him wearing them after he got off the mountain. Thanks.

Mike,

I got his permission before posting the pictures and his okay on what MGI wrote on his blog about our meeting -- he read it and approved it, so he's not upset with me about that. If he changed his mind about selling, that's all he had to say. It's his property, his decision. I just don't understand the cut-off of communications. But, again, that's his choice and he's entitled to make it.

I've received some questions lately about the items that are coming up on eBay being sold by "hawaiiprops" and whether or not it is the "Michael" I met with in Honolulu in September 2008.

I stick by my feeling that that seller is NOT Michael. Based on hawaiiprops' recent postings of a crew Bulova watch and the belt buckle (hawaiiprops' items), I submit the following:

I’m next to positive that this seller isn’t my “Michael.” Apparently there are a few crew members still on Oahu who have these gifts and items and are now selling them.

For the viewpoint of collector (as I understand collecting), Michael’s things have more value because they are still in their boxes (MIB "mint in box"). See pictures below of Michael’s belt buckle and Michael’s watch. Also note that Michael’s belt buckle is numbered 144 and this seller’s is 280. If this seller had the boxes and tags, surely he would picture or mention them in the auction. Or someone should “ask seller a question” and find out if he has the boxes and the tags, the way Michael does. All this guy is doing is escalating the value of Michael’s things (to my way of thinking, in terms of collecting – but I could be wrong. I just learned about MIB when collecting something else).

Michael’s belt buckle in its box (WITH certificate!!!):

Michael’s watch (note the tag on the right and how the watch is still on its "ring" and tucked into the slot of the box it came in)

If anyone wants to compare my pictures against other items that come up on eBay, “Favorite Place” (bookmark) this location for all our pictures that I have uploaded on line.

MPI items I saw

sorry for posting on this old topic.

Did anyone follow the ebay auction in March and can tell me, for which price the AAPI trophy went?

Thanks!
