At what age did you introduce your kids to Magnum?

Re: At what age did you introduce your kids to Magnum?
I can’t find it by searching the forum, but someone somewhere pointed me to Larry’s podcast where he referenced this question. I listened but didn’t save it. Any chance someone here still has that or knows where I can find it? Thanks.

Well, if I had kids I'd of done it as soon as the age of ten or eleven. Same for Five-O.

Finally found it: http://crntalk.com/larrymanetti/
But the podcast feed is gone, a 404 now. Hopefully someone saved the series or at least the 11/14 episode. Anyone?
And, I have now introduced all my kids, ages 13, 11, and 8, to magnum. They love watching with me.

My boy is now 7 weeks old and I already introduced him via the MPI ringtone on my phone. Every time my phone rings he hears it.
Does that count?

My kids are both young adults now, in college and employed. We started watching it together when they were around 9 or 10 years old, about the age I originally watched the series when it debuted.
I remember having to explain to them what smuggling was in regards to the pilot. I also used it to explain the war in Vietnam as family members they knew were involved.

Ivan, congratulations, that's awesome! I too use the theme song as my ringtone -- and sometimes I don't answer the phone, just so that I can listen to the song.

If anyone else is interested, Larry's podcast was saved by archive.org, and I was able to download this episode here: https://web.archive.org/web/20171222012 ... rymanetti/

Thanks guys! Kids are a blessing I tell ya!! Sometimes you just can't turn away from their cute little faces and expressions that they make, especially at that age.
And yes, I've let the phone ring too just so I can listen to the theme song.
I used to have the Five-O theme before this and Knight Rider before that, which was my childhood favorite show. These days I have The A-Team as my alarm clock! Really makes you jump in the morning.

My little boy, of four years old, knows Magnum Pi well since his Daddy sometimes spends time to find atypical shooting locations ...
He is especially interested in the Ferrari, doesn't understand why Higgins is so small and TM so tall, and thinks that the weather is always clear and sunny in Hawaii !
And yes i agree: 'the younger the better'.
Edit: and Pozdravleniya, Ivan ! life comes to a lot of change when kids show their little faces !

Was kinda always on.
Watched the series every 4 years or so. Usual loudly because I was on my exercise bike.
So for them snippets at 4 years old, 8 years old, 12 years old.
One daughter we watched the entire series attentively together before she left for university.
They're well versed from childhood.
They both bought the series.

Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

My daughter just had a convo with someone.
A Magnum PI reference came up.
- "My Dad loves that show it's his favourite in the world".
Daughter goes on explaining the fandom in the house.
Other girl - "I especially like Higgins the way SHE..."
- "Wait, what? I'm talking about the original 80s Magnum PI".
Other girl - "There was an 80s version?".

Seriously, it’s probably inevitable. Don’t hurt your head beating it against a wall. Many times over the years I’ve had to tell my students who were listening to a popular “new” song that it was actually a cover.

Don't worry. Wasn't a kill shot this time. Just a whizzing by the ear warning shot to wake her up.
