What do you think about Higgins & Agatha?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

At the end, I'd like to work in something, an insinuation at least, that maybe Higgins has a love interest. It would be nicely tied into the chracter development i was working on, but i dont want to make up someone either, i'd rather have it tied back into the show.I was thinking at worst since TM moved out, they'd just be hanging out more.

not to give anything away, but higgins develops towards a balance of happiness as well as "proper" behavior and i thought it'd be cool to maybe have a light go off for him and for him to reconsider agatha, but i'm worried there wasn't enough to go on in the show to warrant that sort of change.
The relationship between Higgins and Agatha undergoes a subtle arc from season 3 (her debut in "Black on White") through 8. For most of that time they are merely good friends who care deeply about one another, despite her wishes for it to be something more; and yes he is clueless about her feelings because he just does not see her the way she sees him. Just good ol' Agatha, that's just how she is, she's not serious... like that. Once he gets hit over the head with it in "Echoes of the Mind," they no doubt had a very long talk when he went to her house and for the most part things go back to the way they were. But, if you watch carefully in seasons 7 and 8 you will see there has been a change in the way they relate to one another. She is much more confident with him, not so fluttery, and he seems to have begun to see her in a different way.

In "Little Girl Who," they have an exchange regarding the tableaux vivant project where Agatha keeps trying to tell him there is a rumor that he is going to replace the lady who always plays the Mona Lisa (a major starring role) with someone else, and goes on to explain how much it means to the usual actress to play that role because she's always played it. She brings this to him twice and both times he just changes the subject. In a later scene we see that the rumor was true, he did replace the usual Mona Lisa lady... replaced her with Agatha. She is dressed in the Mona Lisa costume and standing in the frame and he tells her it's their best effort.

There is another exchange in the episode with the exploding volcano/reincarnated Hawaiian lady (can't recall the name of this, lol) where she gives him a sassy little shoulder rub and later he tells her he's giving her the place of honor in reading her piece for the play.

These are little things but they seem quite telling to me. Something has changed here, and probably continued to change after Magnum moved out.
