Just found this on eBay. It's from the Fall Preview issue of 1980, where TV Guide promos the new shows coming up. Thought you all might get a kick out of seeing it -- before the show was a hit.

Thats really cool!
I found it kind of weird that they called out the ring like that, though.

Wow, awesome find
golfmobile ! A fun read.
Magnum had better make good. ABC's Barney Miller and NBC's Thursday-night movie are waiting for him - and not with leis and warm alohas.
and
Magnum ate them for breakfast!

But Barney Miller was a great show. We used to get here late at night, around 11.30 as I remember and I was hooked, even at the tender age of 15!
Still, your'e correct in saying that Magnum ate them for breakfast James.

Great post golfmobile. Like the others, I was surprised at the reference to the team ring. I was also surprised that there was no reference to Magnum being a Vietnam Vet. What was the date on the article? Was it September? Thanks for sharing that article.
The answer is obvious, old man. Logic is irrelevant. It's simply Tropical Madness. (J.Q. Higgins)
