Ferrari 308 found after 29 years

Re: Ferrari 308 found after 29 years
Magnum would've been proud of their detective work!
I wonder where the car has been hiding all these years or was it just driven around town for years without anyone knowing the car was stolen. I'm sure the odometer reading was rolled back too when they were messing with the VIN numbers.
It would be interesting to know what the Ferrari expert was looking for.....I'm guessing a part or even the chassis has serial numbers hidden out of sight that only an expert would know about or maybe something the original owner had done to the car that stood out in the police report.
It reminded me of another stolen Ferrari (Dino) that was buried, discovered, unearthed and then restored......
