There were several fatalities, complete with rare slow motion kills and a destroyed 1st edition O. Henry book! Kind of a brutal episode all around actually -- In addition to the Robin's Nest shootout, T.C. and "Mac" are shot and hospitalized, Magnum gets whiplash, and the Island Hoppers Vanagon is shot-up with automatic weapons fire!

That make makes me think of the silliest, or funniest depending on you point of view, of the shootout in A.A.P.I. complete with a hail of bullets, water glasses prancing along a counter and ending with the hospital shot of everyone (with the exception of Magnum) bandaged up like having been in a terrible skiing accident.................

The Ugliest Dog in Hawaii shootout with mobsters at Makai Research Pier. Who said you can't have a light hearted gun fight? Best part is when TC comes to the rescue.

I like the finale of Memories are Forever. It's only a shootout in that Colonel Ki and Magnum shoot one another, but the dramatic tension and excellent performances make it Magnum's most memorable shootout for me--and it is also my all-time favorite Magnum, P.I. episode.

There should also be a "What is Magnum's Best Car Chase?" thread.

Two standout to me as completely awesome shoot outs:

1) Way of the Stalking Horse basement shootout - loved seeing Driscoll go down!

2) On the Fly - this seemed like something out of a gangster movie, Higgins and Magnum tossing rifles and machine guns to each other, guys getting blown away left and right, and the estate getting shot to swiss cheese, awesome!

After viewing the Episode: "Of Face Value", I would certainly like to add this episode to the column of best Magnum shootouts. The first shootout is good in it's own rite, and the second is even better. Speaking of the second shootout, when Magnum approaches the diner in which the Keidash brothers are seated, he has his 1911A1 readily available with the firearm inside a folded newspaper under his left arm. With the 1911A1 hidden in such a manner, Magnum was able to quickly place it into action, to deal with the Keidash duo.

The shootout rapidly moves to the alley located behind the diner, with Magnum settling the Kiedash question once and for all. Being retired from law enforcement, I too have used the newspaper trick in areas where other methods of firearms concealment, would have been difficult. Another method I have personally used was the baby diaper bag. Loaded with the usual baby items, diapers, extra clothes, infant bottles, very few suspected it contained both firearm and extra magazines. It worked even better when working with female officers or agents who were expecting!
