Magnum's Jacket: 'Letter to a Duchess'

In the episode, 'Letter to a Duchess', after Magnum takes Vivian home from their dinner, he's in the study, talking to Higgins. I believe the jacket he is wearing is called a 'Sir Jac', which were very popular years ago! The elastic waist and cuffs, the plaid lining, and the umbrella back! When I saw this episode in the 80's, I found a light blue one at a store called 'The Blade', in Beaverton Oregon! I still have it! The one in the show may be another brand, but is exactly like the old 'Sir Jac'!

The picture is close, but the waist band and cuffs are wrong. The pockets on mine also have flaps, like the jacket on the episode. I am so bad with computers, I couldn't post a photo or picture I found, if I had to!! If you Google 'Sir Jac jackets, and hit the photo on the right(that shows the plaid lining and label) you will see a tan one, with every thing i have described!

Here's some interesting info about the company on this blog, including a photo of Fonzie wearing one (sans plaid lining).

I remember the red one from Rebel Without a Cause referred to in the article.

The guy resurrecting the brand may be interested to see an image of Magnum wearing one.

Not quite. Like I said, google, Sir Jac jackets. The photo shows the label, that reads , Sir Jac! Just click on that, and you can bring up photos of jacket! You can see the flap pockets, waist band, umbrella back!
