Low Tide at the Anderson Estate

#1 Post by steveadl »

Hi all! We're heading to Hawaii on the 13th of this month and will be checking out some of the Magnum PI locations.

On my list so far is:
- Anderson Estate
- 3860 Old Pali Rd
- Makai Research Pier
- Byodo-in Temple (possibly, depending on how I find my navigation skills over there)

Firstly, are there any other obvious locations that I'm forgetting from the show that would be worth a visit (and a photo or two)?

Also, reading through the archives here, I came across this link to tide info ( http://www.tidesonline.com/showtable.ph ... IDNUM=2156 ). I know this is probably a really stupid question, but can someone tell me what '-1:09 & -1:15' mean for the tide at the Anderson Estate? What time should we head to the beach there?

Cheers
Steve

Hi steveadl,
Welcome to the forum. If you're staying in Waikiki, you can walk Kalakaua Ave to the War Memorial and just past that is the Elks Club. The first KKC.
If you haven't seen Rubber Chicken's location guide,it's worth a look.

Here is a driving map of Oahu.Map 3 has the Temple and the estate.

I say go for the all out experience. See if you can rent a surf ski and paddle to the estate! Enjoy your trip and welcome aboard!

Thanks for the tips guys, very helpful! Yes Steve, that tides page you linked to is much easier to read! :D

Looking forward to seeing it all in person. Shame the War Memorial on Kalakaua Ave is closed to the public, would have liked to have gone inside there - I remember it well from the episodes shot there.

The War Memorial has been closed since 1979. Funding issues and arguments continue about any future fate.
