Magnum moment on the LIRR

#1 Post by ConchRepublican »

So, this morning I get on my train, crowded as usual, so I slide into a seating area by the conductor. The seat is removed, but at least I have some space to hang my bag and read the paper for a little while.

The long hair pony-tailed conductor comes back up the car checking tickets. After he checks mine, he opens the door to his compartment. As he closes it I notice a flash on his right hand . . .

The Magnum ring . . .

I didn't see him again on the ride, otherwise I would have made a comment, but I smiled.

That's pretty cool. Yesterday I had to go to the local courthouse to file some papers. The security guy was wearing an MIA bracelet. He noticed that I put mine in the x-ray bin as I was going through. We struck up a conversation. Although MPI was never mentioned, we each told the stories of the men on our respective bracelets.
"But Higgins, I can explain."

Conch,

If you were on your 'normal' train you may see him again....

Did you really have a MPI gathering last week? I read the post too late to attend. How did it go?

I actually get together with 2 other MPI fans from the NE a few times a year. Let me know if you are interested in joining...

That's the thing, he was an unfamiliar face on my usual train. I wonder if they had a schedule rotation of something.

I was half expecting someone here to post "hey, that was me!"

Higgy Baby put something together at Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th Street, unfortunately I wasn't able to make it. I heard it went well!

For some reason, this immediately brings to mind Gollum from Lord of the Rings. "Precious... my precious! You can't have it!" LOL!

If you see him again, you should just point to yours and smile. ;)
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!
