Well, I have one thing to ask everybody who owns the series: For Seasons 2 + 3, it appears after the end credits, the Universal segment does not appear, while in syndication it does. Does anyone else have this similar problem or am I just making a big deal out of nothing?

I bought mine at Amazon and they were fine about replacing the one set, season 2 I think, that had a problem. This was after the "return/exchange" time had expired, too!

Also, I have a DVD cleaner, a Brookstone, that seems to help with these problems. Some independent video stores offer a service where they will clean your disc and remove any small scratches that cause those irritating problems.

I don't think its that kinda problem, but maybe. I don't see any scratches at all.

I have some freezing problems, too. I bought a Lens Cleaner from Amazon...for about $13...because there was an article in our paper where a guy was talking about picking up DVD players when the County has a "free electronic recycle" day. He said people throw them away...he takes them home, cleans the pickup lens and resells them because that's all that's wrong with them.

My Lens Cleaner says I need to clean the pickup lens every 10 hours...or once a week. HA! 10 hours is once a DAY! But I usually end up cleaning it once every week or so and it makes a BIG difference!

Soooo. Should I be cleaning my disks, too, Jaybird? How does that work? Good to know that Amazon was nice about replacing a set. I just got Season 6 and one of the episodes has some freezing...which I don't think it should when it's new. I might need to replace this season.

Or maybe it's time to replace my player. It's an "El Cheapo" that's been chugging along all day, every day for about a year...

Interesting and useful topic, Tom_Magnum. Thanks!

:)

I should have kept track of which episodes I had trouble with from season's 1 & 2 so I could try them on the PS2 . . .

I guess I'll just have to start from the beginning again once I complete 7 & 8!

Thanks Agatha. Apparently, Seasons 2+3 were the worst for freezing:and some episodes in Season 3 don't play at all. But with my copies, the only thing im missing is the universal segment at the end of the closing credits. Ya.
