You're trying to win over a new fan....

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

Let's say you can put your own six episode DVD together to show a friend, a date, a co-worker... anyone who doesn't appreciate the greatness that is MPI.

Which episodes do you put on... and why? And why do you leave off the episodes that "almost" made the list.

(Doesn't matter if it's 1hour or 2 hours, by the way, in this little game)

Me?

I start with "Memories are Forever"... to show the history.
Follow that with "Did You See The Sun Rise" to continue the history and because it's the greatest episode ever.
I'm tempted to go with "Echoes..." and "Mac's Back" because both are so, so good. But I'd rather stick with the great history the writers put together, so next is "Home From the Sea".
Started to follow that with "Distant Relative", but the romantic would rather show "LA". Although I could be convinced that "Little Girl Who" is necessary instead.
I'll follow that with "Limbo" and end with "Infinity...".

Tough to leave out "Laura", "Paper War", and many others, but it's the history that brings it all together.

Depending on the personality of the person I'm showing the DVD, I might want to show "J Digger Doyle", "Sunrise", "Mr White Death", "Death and Taxes", "Laura", "Paper War", to show a broader spectrum.

See... tough choices!

Great question!

I'd probably want to showcase a little bit of everything - comedy, drama, mystery, action - with maybe a "fantasy" episode thrown in:

"China Doll"
"Tropical Madness"
"Did You See the Sunrise"
"The Big Blow"
"Death and Taxes"
"Murder by Night"

Still, no matter which ones I pick, it wouldn't work for most of the people I know. They still wouldn't "get" the show. But that's ok, everyone's different. My wife will never understand the appeal of MPI, just like I will never understand the appeal of Sex and the City and Grey's Anatomy! ;)

Don't worry James, I don't "get" those shows either, and I'm female and worked in the medical field! In fact, I don't "get" most modern TV shows, particularly so called "reality" shows! The only reality show that I'm not "over" yet is Dog the Bounty Hunter, but they may lose me at the end of this season...just kinda bored with it. Let's go bust some crackhead tweaker that has jumped bail. The plot never changes!!! :D

Thank you SelleckLover.......I'm still trying to figure out who Jon and Kate are that I see on the cover of almost every magazine I see while standing in line at the grocery store! (And why I should care about them)

Great question. I know Home From the Sea, Death and Taxes, and Did You See the Sun Rise would be on there. I'd have to thin about the others though.
