Timeline goof again

#1 Post by only looking »

I was tying to put some dates on some of the pictures that was in my prop wallet I got from a member here on the forum and I was adding a picture I have of Magnum and Michelle's wedding date and a date to put on a picture of Lily and Magnum from "little girl who" so here's what I decided from a little investigation. #1 "little girl who" starts out in Viet Nam and says 1986, latter we realize it's almost been 6 years since "Memories are forever" which would make it 1980 for that episode then he mentions "Like 6 years never passed" to Michelle which would make their marriage around 1974. Season 7's epsiode 5 "Death and Taxes" date in the show is 7/4/1986 then little girl who has to be either 7/17/86 or 7/18/86 due to the score of the Cardinals/Dodgers game then in ep. 8 "Novel Connection" the missing persons report date is 9/14/86 but like mentioned earlier epi. 16 "forty" is Magnum's birthday, and it's suppose to be 8/8 and not 1/5 it's out of sync because either it's 1/5/87 and he should be 41 or it's 8/8/86 and it's out of place.
It made me do it Higgins!!!

I made a post in "The Little Girl Who" thread where I put forward my theory that it takes place around six months after "Death and Taxes" due to dialog in the episode. Which would place TLGW sometime during January 1987. Assuming you count months yankee style.
So I made a Topic Page about Magnum, P.I. Check it out here.

I agree there are some continuity problems but overall they did pretty well. Most TV shows make no attempt to keep track of details. Also, I'm sure that Bellasario had no idea that we would be scrutinizing the episodes so closely 20 years after the series' run! Well done! MPI rules!
Who's Dot Matrix, and what has she got to do with this?
