Have you ever met Selleck?

#1 Post by stephan »

I posted this topic on IMDB a few years ago before I found this site. Has anybody here had the pleasure of meeting Selleck? From the response I got on IMDB everybody who did said he was an absolutle gentleman.

I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times while he was on Boadway in 2001. He was a gentleman. But I missed the mustache.....

SL, you should have knocked on his door. Do that next time!

Haven't met him, but he's been in Vancouver a few times so I've heard.

There's a restaurant here called the Elbow Room that serves a Tom Selleck burger. They named it that because he was the first celebrity to show up there...

Their website has it spelled wrong, they called it a Tom Select Burger, but i've tried it. It goes like this...

"Topped with bacon, pineapple, peach slices and camembert cheese."
It was pretty good, and different that any other I've tried....

Here's a link to the restaurant website, the 2nd paragraph will tell you that Tom was there

I would have certainly liked to, but his property is security gated (for obvious reasons) and you can't really see anything from the road. The security gates are from my guesstimate, about 6-8 feet high. His property is out in the "boonies" (very beautiful area, I must say) and very overgrown by the part that is close to the road. The terrain is very hilly and mountainous and I suppose I could approach the property from the rear, but I would need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to do that. I'm sure he probably has cameras on the property and I would be spotted before I got to the helipad! (I drive a '92 Toyota Camry!) If I was him, I would probably have a nutjob like me arrested for trespassing anyway, so I have thought better of it!!

Now, just reading that last paragraph, you see that I've spent a lot of time thinking about this!!!!! :D LOL

And, BTW, the Tom Select Burger sounds really good. I'll have to whip one up in my kitchen sometime! :D

I've never met Mr. Selleck, but I used to date a girl who had dinner with him years ago. She was a National Merit Scholar and flew out to Las Vegas to attend a big ceremony for all of the National Merit Scholars around the country. She sat at Mr. Selleck's table and chatted with him during dinner. She told me that when they were introduced to each other, TS gave her a kiss on the cheek.

I have not had the honor of meeting Mr. Selleck, but a friend of mine has. He was working a gun show where he was selling and showing the leather work he makes for firearms. Jim was working on a piece and looked up to see TS standing in front of him looking at his work. He was in a coat, baseball hat, and sunglasses. They talked for quite a while and TS ended up buying several items. Jim said he was the nicest guy you would want to meet. Did not act like the important person he is.
