How about everyone posting pics of them in their Magnum garb?? Here is me at my friend's 40th Birthday 80's party a couple of weeks ago. Much of the info I got right here on this site so I want to thank all who have posted and to the the founder. The shorts may not be short enough and unfortunately I couldn't find any without cargo pockets. The belt is a Navy tan web belt but I couldn't find a Surface Warfare buckle, especially one with Magnum in block letters, lol. Unfortunately I didn't receive my Team Ring untill a week after the party. Brace yourself folks... It's "Fat Magnum"!! Hope you get some laughs, LOL!!
P.S. The Mustache is real and the first time in my 38yrs I have let it grow that much. Still not up to Mr. Selleck's level.
I have two of the red Paradise Found Shirts and two of the Black, have the mustache (OK, not as good as TM's) and I have the wavy hair, the only problem is that it is completely grey! I guess I am going to have to find some brown spray to put it in or just go with the "mature" TM look if I ever get around to a picture. Great outfit, look and picture TM III, you are obviously a true gentleman and a scholar. I saw in a post that you lived in Hawaii in the eighties, any stories about sightings of the filming crews. My first trip (out of two) was in 1987 and I did see a second unit setting up on Waikiki Beach but no stars were going to be filimng. I also probably drove by The Anderson estate about four times and never knew that was where Robins Nest was! Thank goodness for the internet........
Nay, Nay, it was from 2002-2005 that I was stationed in Hawaii. My first stop in Hawaii and the reason (other than Magnum) for wanting to get stationed there was a 18hr C-141 layover at Hickam in 1989. I had just hopped from Clark in the Philippines to Hickam and when I stepped off the plane I knew I needed to be in Hawaii. It took me 16 more years to get there and I will admit, I wasted more time in the Waikiki bars, then exploring the Magnum sites. I had driven past the Anderson Estate on a military training mission but never stopped or went out there on my own to see it. I could really kick myself. I lived in Aiea Heights until early 2004 and then Waikiki until I left in Oct of 2005. It was my Grandmother who was there in the 80's, not living there, just on vacation. She took several pictures of both TS's POV and the 308. I hope to soon have these pics which I'll post here. Hope this cleared up some confussion.
I think you look great. You had me fooled. I just got the red shirt and have a purple one. Still working on the black jungle bird! Gotta get back to the islands soon as I'm getting mainland fever. Did a 14 mile race in Santa Cruz on Saturday. My outrigger club had it's "Aloha Festival" yesterday on Donner Lake. Hawaiian band, hula dancers, Hawaiian food, rookie paddlers racing the 6 person canoes with us providing the steersperson. Perfect weather. Too bad that it will start getting cold in about a month.

Sounds like a great time! Did you have a buddy like Rick taking odds on how you'd finish the race?
