I also just found out recently that the actor playing Marcus, Magnum's volleyball partner who gets killed, is none other than Sinjin Smith! Sinjin will later become one of the biggest names in (beach) volleyball! In the episode, he is credited as St. John Smith, which threw me off. Sinjin already w...

Well, every few years you need to recast this fantasy film of ours as the proposed actors get long in the tooth. George Clooney is near 50 and I think we can write him off. My choice right now is Aaron Eckhart. Very outdoorsy guy with western sensibilities (from Bozeman, Montana). He attended the Oa...

Hello, Henry Lewis ! Welcome! Awesome pictures! Super high quality! :) There were two young women (mid-to-late 20's) sitting on the wall by the tidal pool. They had a dog with them. Two other dogs showed up on the other side of the fence on the estate, a lab and a french bulldog. The girls' dog and...

Magnum's Surfski Results
I've always been drawn to the episodes that feature Magnum's athletic pursuits, many of which were at the time, fairly obscure: beach volleyball, triathlon, surfski paddling. I especially like that, despite being an extremely fit former Navy SEAL, he always seems to underachieve. I don't feel so bad...

Just got back from Oahu where I swam the Waikiki Roughwater Swim. I realize magnum never swam the event in the show, but it's something I'm sure the character would have done. I was initially disappointed with my 49th out of 62 age group placement, but then realized how Magnum-like that was. :D Also...

Seasons one and two are fantastic. The series peaked with "Did You See the Sunrise". Season three and four were good. After that the original vision for the show was lost and it became overproduced in an effort to make it "better and more mature". I think this is a common phenomenon for television a...

2. This Flub is one of my favorites. After J. Doyle cons her way into Higgins' study and pulls the gun on Magnum and Higgins, she uses the red telephone to call Robin Masters. After a brief conversation with Robin, she hands the phone to Higgins, who speaks to Robin for 7 seconds. From Higgins' 7 s...

Just returned from Oahu and after visiting some locations, recognized a unreported flub in this episode. Early in the episode Judith arrives at the estate in the Rolls-Royce. While Higgins talks to the driver about the car, Judith and Magnum walk off to talk in private. In the next scene they are on...
