Re: The Love-For-Sale Boat (5.17)

I rated the episode as "decent". I used to roll my eyes and skip it, but it's grown on me in the sense that I appreciate the balance it strikes between silliness, and flat-out insufferable stupidity. I think this one is self aware enough to be enjoyable whereas episodes like Legend Of The Lost Art, ...

Re: Mac's Back (5.3)

So I was watching this episode yesterday, and after seeing TM's red eyes during the opening scene it really got me wondering if he was stoned! I came here looking if anyone else thought the same, but haven't seen anything. Do you think it was just a result of his drinking and past events, or could ...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)

This idea that 22 episodes is a lot and it's hard to keep up with ideas is such a modern excuse. It was the norm for decades. This modern era of 6-8 episode seasons of shows has made everyone soft. Simply adding women to a show has never worked to hold female attention. Magnum was never conceived as...

Re: Rembrandt's Girl (4.14)

I hate this episode. That said, I love the Carol Burnett show, and I think the woman herself is fine. However, I have no use for her on Magnum P.I. Certainly not in a way that takes over the whole episode with nonsensical awkwardness, and forced "comedy" goofiness by literally making the star a capt...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)

I saw this last night and noticed on this thread that I gave it my worst score ever (6 - pretty bad) when I re-watched this 10 years ago but I didn't comment, so I'll remedy that now: I hate everything about the Carol Baldwin character ! From her relentless lies/manipulation to her fake "drunk acti...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)

This is one of my least favorite episodes, since Carol’s manipulation is way above and beyond any that TM does. His little manipulations aren’t so contrived. I know after all these years it shouldn’t make me mad, but really… calling Higgins, Rick and TC and lying? I agree with another poster that t...

Re: Going Home (6.7)

It's an absolute travesty of scheduling that this is the episode that aired on Halloween night in 1985 when you had episodes like I Never Wanted To Go To France Anyway, & Rapture on the list.

Re: Bridget or Carol?

Bridget Archer for sure. Lloyd is way better as Bridget than as Carol, and the Almost Home episode is quite good overall. Magnum PI had a very puzzling habit of featuring overly domineering, and/or stubborn female guest stars that really take over their episodes to the point of almost ruining them.

Re: Home From the Sea (4.1)

Happy Independence Day! I'm just settling in to fire this one up. Home From The Sea is the single best episode of Magnum P.I. and one of the 10 best episodes of any show in television history. It's fitting today as this is the very first July 4th in my life that I've spent alone.

I love this episode. So much so, in fact, that it is my all-time favorite single episode of the entire series.

Re: Who's the hottest babe on Magnum P.I.?

None of the above.

The hottest women to appear on the show are as follows:

5) Patrice Martinez (Linda Lee Ellison) S7 E16, S8 E13
4) Lee Purcell (Goldie) S6 E3
3) Kim Bevers (Little Allison) S5 E19
2) Shawn Hoskins (Sharon Karns) S1 E8
1) Elizabeth Lindsey (Kiki) S1 E10

Thank you for that post...integrity is at stake here...Let's settle this by comparing the body parts shown in the tide pool "snorkel girl"... feet won't change much..also ankles and calfs...let's compare Debbie's parts and Shirley's parts with the girl in the tide pool...bingo ...there's your truth...

I know it's more of a set dressing but the yuba champions know whatever happened to the painting that was in the guest house of the 2 polynesian women Hopefully the original painting is hanging prominently in someone's kitchen, I have mocked a version up : https://www.zazzle.com/the_famous_guest_ho...

Amazing job! A dream come true for many Magnum fans as it's one of what I consider to be the top 3 elusive hats from the show, and can now be checked off the list. Now if only someone was able to make the other two...

Re: Season 1 General Discussion

I agree that season one, and I would also argue a bit of season two, does indeed have a different feel. It’s not unusual in long-running shows for the production to fall into certain patterns as they go on into later seasons. Early on, every scenes is new and has to be thought out and blocked out f...
