Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Does DropBox now require an account for visitors to access those? (I've not use it for so long, I don't remember if that's how it's always been or what.) I just wanted to repost the links to my SketchUp model and floor plans of Pahonu. A forum member messaged me that the old links didn't work. Remem...

Re: A discussion of history, setting, and why the reboot fai
Maybe this plays a role, maybe not, but here are my thoughts... Between the Internet and presenters like Rick Steves, I think we've moved past the era of gazing longingly at travel brochures. What once held the promise of a once-in-a-lifetime experience has since become available on TV and your smar...

Re: Anyone Watch Pilot but Won’t Watch Again? Or Opposite?
OK action, but no depth to the villains -- certainly nothing as poignant as with La Bulle. The plot was in many ways just a remake of "Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii". It felt like the cast was putting in legitimate effort, and if not for the original series this might be interesting to see where thin...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
I would find it quite amusing if the buyer was shown clearly to have violated the spirit of the agreement, and, perhaps overlapping with the skeleton preservation, was required to re-build the house. What, if anything, might fans be able to do to nudge the situation in such a direction?

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
What was it about the building's construction (or the weather, insects, etc. in Hawaii) that caused it to deteriorate?

Re: Anyone Change of Heart?
It's been posted before, either in this thread or others, how vacuous the stuff coming out of Hollywood has become, especially the re-makes. Sure, they have flashier special effects, but often times the shows fail at providing that special something that makes one feel for the characters. I wonder i...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
So sad that Robins nest was torn down. Eve Anderson refused to get the property listed as a historic place. Heard her say she wanted to pay her taxes. Being registered as a historic place would have abated property taxes which she evidently wanted to pay. It appears Eve let the home, particularly i...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
We've got a 3D computer model in SketchUp format, we've got numerous photos showing the house in different time periods, there may even be some architectural plans lying around somewhere. Is that enough to re-create it in exacting detail, either virtually or actually? If so, then we should find a wa...

Re: Possibility of a Magnum PI Open world game?
A Magnum game is the last hope for many of us to experience anything resembling that era, now that they've torn down Robin's Nest. :( As for dialogue, it might be possible to use audio samples from the show to train voice-alteration software, allowing anyone with the right speaking skills to pull of...

Re: Anyone Change of Heart?
I would be willing to give the new show a *chance*, but only if it clearly paid respect to the original cast and crew -- a portrait of John Hillerman on Ms. Higgins' wall, a cameo with Tom Selleck taking on the role of Buck Greene or voicing Robin Masters, things like that. Otherwise, the show would...
