I wonder if anyone could identify the non cast members in that photo? Also, Larry Manetti is missing. (Of course, he wasn't in the climactic scene so he probably wasn't on set that day).

Thanks Sam, I didn't realize IMDB was the source for the photo.

Re: Murder by Night (7.14)
I edited the DVD version of Murder by Night to restore the long middle section to black and white. So this version should be pretty close to the feel and quality of the original broadcast version from the 80s, assuming Windows Movie Maker's "grayscale" effect produces something near to the original quality. If anyone has a VHS copy of the original 80s broadcast of this (or any other episode(s)) I'd be willing to pay all expenses necessary to have them digitized (and since I have the cables and software necessary to convert VHS to digital, that might include paying to have them shipped to me, I do the conversion, then ship the originals VHS tapes back to you - but willing to consider whatever options most cost effective and effort expedient, including using vendors that do VHS-to-digital conversion, etc.)
In the meantime, enjoy Murder by Night as it was meant to be scene: https://vimeo.com/685178480

Re: Murder by Night (7.14)
I watched the syndicated version tonight and it was in color. About 10 minutes in, after lamenting that I had wished it was in B&W, I realized that all I needed to do was turn off the color filter on my monitor. Problem solved. I watched the remainder of the show in B&W.

What the hell? I don't know that I have ever seen this episode. I don't know how that can be, but it is totally unfamiliar to me. Thanks for resurrecting this threat and the B&W version.

I enjoyed this one.
Just touching on some years-old comments in the thread:
Where cigarette smoke is drawn into the lungs, cigar smoke is just drawn into the mouth and sometimes the sinuses. And yes, the tobacco is different (different leaves of the plant, and often different strains of plant altogether---the tobacco is cured differently, too). And delivery of nicotine is not really the point of it, or at least not the point of most of the varieties, which vary in nicotine strength.
About color: it was shot on color 35mm film, and only portions of it duped to B&W photochemically. The picture negative is mostly color. The color was removed while transferring it to video tape for network broadcast. When new transfers were made for DVD/syndication/etc, they skipped that step, intentionally or not.
Set blooper: in a low-angle shot of TM in his bedroom at the end of the episode, one can see higher up the walls than normal, and white cloth has been draped across the top of the flats in lieu of a ceiling.
