Hi Ivan,
Sound advice, for whom am I to dispute Fred Sanford? By the way, that was Redd Fox's real name.

Hey Dobie,

I believe Sanford was his last name but he wasn’t named Fred. It was Joe or John if I recall correctly. Interestingly, sometime in the 1940s, he befriended Malcolm Little, later known as Malcolm X, as both were dishwashers at a restaurant in Harlem. As both men also had reddish hair, Sanford was nicknamed "Chicago Red" after his hometown and Malcolm was known as "Detroit Red". I learned about this back in high school in the 80’s when my English teacher assigned us The Autobiography of Malcolm X. She was quite progressive in her selections and, while I didn’t understand that at the time, I feel very fortunate that she was. In a completely unrelated story, a friend of mine from college took a joyride in Redd Foxx’s car when the valet brought it to him at a casino in Las Vegas. He literally drove it out of the drive, out onto the street, and back into the drive. Fox was understandably upset but didn’t press charges. My friend was just stupid!

I was sure I was right, so I looked it up and was proven wrong, dag nab it. I am going back to double checking all such things rather than rely on memory.
I see that Red was born John Elroy Sanford, his mother half Seminole. He had a father and a brother named Fred, whose name he sometimes used when up to shenanigans or to confuse people he was
dodging in his days on the chitlin circuit.
That's bizarre, him crossing paths with Malcolm X, his life story would make a good movie.
Pahonu, I like your buddy and his caper with Foxx's car, but what the heck, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

No worries about the details Dobie. I didn’t realize that his father and brother were named Fred.

To add a little more detail to the story, Redd Foxx was really pissed off and wanted to call the cops on my friend. I was just standing there still stunned that my buddy did this. It all happened so fast. He saw the car being brought to Foxx and his entourage and told me he was going to take it for a spin. Of course I thought he was joking, but before I could say anything, he did it! One of the men with Foxx had to talk him down and remind him that he would have to give a statement to the police if they were called. He kept telling him that he would be late, to where, I don’t know, but ultimately he relented. I was so relieved because my buddy drove us there and if he got arrested, we were both screwed! The thing I remember most vividly is that the man with Foxx, who was very big, literally smacked my buddy on the side of his head and told him “Your welcome white boy”. I didn’t say a damn word the whole time!

In "Star Trek Into Darkness"(2013) there is a shot of the Enterprise maneuvering around battle wreckage after it comes out of warp.
The wreckage is shown on the bridge's big screen in front of Sulu.
If you look closely directly above Sulu on screen, R2-D2 from Star Wars passes by amongst the space junk.

I understand both R2-D2 and C3PO appear TWICE in Raiders of the Lost Ark(1981) but I'll be darned where. If anyone knows please share here, and you will
win a date with either Princess Leia or Jabba the Hut. Your choice.

In Disney movies and TV series, the sequence "A113" keeps cropping up, it could be on license plates or doorways or anywhere.
That's because California Institute of the Arts legendary Graphics Design classroom is designated A113.
Many if not most of the top animation people in Hollywood such as Tim Burton attended class there, and as a result A113 also appears in the Marvel Comics Movie Universe.

Yep, probably the funniest S&S episode. "Fred Sanford, Legal Eagle". Wouldn't fly today, that's for sure. Especially the N word that was used with the Tarzan comment. Antonio "Huggy Bear" Fargas was in that episode as a shady lawyer named Sonny Cochran. An obvious reference to Johnny Cochran.

In the tongue in cheek, season 12 Bonanza episode "The Trouble With Trouble", Hoss is pinch hitting as sheriff in the rough and tumble town of Trouble, California.
At one point his deputy is sitting at his desk and on the wall behind him is a wanted poster:

REWARD $2000
WANTED FOR MAIL ROBBERY
BRONCO LAYNE

The outlaw pictured on the poster is of course actor Ty Hardin, from the Warner Brothers Western "Bronco".
Many Westerns on TV and in the movies had joke Wanted posters featuring writers or directors, family members, actors from competing TV series or even baseball players from the Dodgers.

This episode premiered on October 25, 1970 when Dan Blocker was 42 years old. Tragically he had only 17 more months to live, dying on May 13, 1972 from complications after gallbladder surgery.
Going by Hollywood "Q Scores", at the time of his death Blocker was among the most beloved actors ever as Bonanza had become more than a TV series, a veritable cultural touchstone that was shown
in scores of countries around the world.

Not to worry Ivan. I saw the episode myself tonight and spotted the Wanted poster with Bronco Layne. I always note any kind of list of names, signs in windows, wanted posters etc. as the set
designers put them there for a reason, it isn't random.
99% of the time it's just dressing for what the set is supposed to be but then you have, as in any workplace people who joke around and do things to amuse each other and the cast.
If I worked on a TV series and was told to make up a list of names of international men of mystery who are catnip for the ladies, for Tom Selleck to read out loud as possible suspects,
why not put Ivan and Pahonu at the top, as well as Doc Ibold. Who else, after all?

As for verifying the information I post here almost all are items I found myself. I don't fully trust imdh, I have found quite a number of errors there over the years.
When I watch the Hawaiian Eye episodes, the beguiling Connie Stevens will sing a song as she does in most every episode and if I don't know it's title I look it up on imdh.
A few times they cited the wrong song title.
There used to be a site online about 20 years ago where people traded "easter eggs" and in jokes and such, but I left as it started getting deeply weird.
One of them, from Turkey, noted that if you used the frame by frame advance on your VCR tape, on a specific episode of McHales Navy where Captain Binghampton was in his shorts,
his John Thomas makes an unbilled appearance. Okayyyy.
They must have a lot of time on their hands in Ankara, I think I will scratch Turkey from my bucket list.
"I could just scream"...Captain Wallace Binghampton(Joe Flynn)
I don't blame you Wally.
