Knight Rider (2008)

#1 Post by Danno »

So, maybe I am the last person online to know that there is a Knight Rider film coming out this year with a new series to follow?!

... but with this somewhat shocking notion, the possibility of a Magnum reboot seems likely... what do you think?

Surely if they are making a new Knight Rider TV show, the far superior Magnum P.I. deserves a revival?

Sadly my hubby and I watched this 'hokey' remake every wednesday... I think it died, it was replaced by a mid season replacement show...

Maybe the actor will go back to AMC where he belongs...

That remake was terrible. I'm actually midwy through Seson 3 of the original. Yeah, it may seem Hokey and dated, but the original had a certain charm about it as sterotupical 80's shows go.

If they ever come up with a Magnum remake (TV), and they treat it like the Knight Rider remake... I wouldn't watch it (past the first episode)

Although it has its faults, I really like the original 'Knight Rider'.

I'd place it in my Top 5 all-time favourite shows (along with MPI and 'The A-Team'. It just had a certain charm about it, and to be fair, some of the stories were actually pretty good. Especially those involving KARR or Garthe Knight and Goliath.

I've only seen a few episodes of the new version (I think it's shown in the UK, but only on some very obscure channel that I don't have) - it was so cold and uninvolving. And the new KITT sounded decidedly evil!

I'm amazed it lasted a full season. Although it did (deservedly) get cancelled soon after.

This series is now run here in the UK on Freeview channel Fiver (or is it Five US? Can never tell the two apart).

It's terrible. I can't relate to any of the leads, K.I.T.T. sounds positively evil, they've tried to stick "modern music" in just cos other shows do it, to appeal to "the kids", and the plots are dull (and this is coming from someone who sat through and loved the original!).

For some bizare, unknown reason, I am recording it, but only for 'reference', and of the six or so episodes they've shown, I think I've watched about one complete - couldn't stomach any more!
