That is a great painting...I like the patina of the dried out oil. I would like to know what the dimensions of that piece are, all the great detail with the rigging. I had read an article while I was doing the Falls of Clyde painting that they were taking it back to Ireland for restoration...don't know if that happened or if it is still at port in Honolulu.

Gunny,
I found a better picture of the painting you were asking about...from All Roads Lead to Floyd. I thought it was a Japanese woman or Samurai
but now I'm thinking maybe Hawaiian Princess on a horse.
The garland around its neck looks like what they use for weddings. Anyone know? Image

It is a Pa'u Rider...I Googled it. Pretty cool history, but still have not found the painting or the artist.
