I laughed out loud at several of Luther's lines, including his proclamation over Jean Claude: "Oh, gee, he croaked!"

My reply to this question would probably vary depending on my mood or other factors. Today I nominate the poignant scene in Opertion: Silent Night (4.10) when Higgins talks about being away from home at Christmas

I agree that much of TM's wisdom was dispensed during his narrations. Here is a conversational bit of wisdom: “I can remember five years ago like it was yesterday. I can remember what you said: ‘That you can’t lay abstract words like ethics or ideals on your feelings cause they don’t apply.’ Well, I...

This is a good question. I agree with Kwanzaa. TM’s “little voice” was fine, but I wish they hadn’t based stories on ghosts or psychic activities. There are two other minor things that I wish they had not done. I didn’t like the way they brought Mac back, and I didn’t like the “Higgins as Robin” the...

I just watched this episode again. I don’t like it, but it does have one good scene at the end. When Agatha and a few other ladies are about to board the helicopter, there is a very amusing exchange between Agatha and TC. Agatha: “You do promise not to go too fast, don’t you Mr. Calvin, or too high?...

This topic isn’t exactly on point for my post, but I’ll use it anyway. It can be a risky proposition to talk about gender or race, but I’m planting one boot into the gender pond. For many discussions about MPI, I’m sure that gender does not make any difference. However, for some things, men and wome...

This is an old topic, but it’s on point so I’ll use it. I’m still finding interesting things at this site. I just found the clip-by-clip descriptions of the opening title sequence for all eight seasons. James identifies the episode for each clip except for a few which are from stock footage. (For ye...

SelleckLover, thank you for the brief history of the Mau Mau Uprising. I intended to look into it, but you saved me the trouble. Unlike my “namesake”, I wasn’t there. :) Do you agree with my conclusion that the title is an attempt to mislead viewers about the situation in 1982 (i.e., three former Br...

I just watched this episode. I think it’s excellent. It has most of the features I enjoy about MPI (good plot, relationships, humor, Higgins’ history, scenery, etc.) It’s a minor detail, but the title seems a little strange. I assume that it refers to race. If so, the purpose was to mislead viewers....

I’m new to this forum, so I’m seeing the screen names for the first time. There are many good names. (e.g., IslandHopper, Italian Ice, VMO2, Frodoleader, etc.) I agree that Artie Canoe might be the most clever. I particularly like HiHo, kudubuck, rubber chicken, and tidal pool. (I would trade the Fe...

VMO2, it’s good to know that I'm not the only one with 27 tapes full of MPI. I taped the shows over several years, so the episodes were seriously out of order. I eventually got the episode list and noted on my list where I could find each episode. I now have all eight seasons on DVD. From this web s...

Thank you both. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my exploration of this site during the past week, and I’m sure that I will find many more nuggets of interesting information.

It’s good to be able to share my appreciation for MPI with others.

I want to echo AlohaSpirit’s remarks. I’m a new member, but an old fan of MPI. I greatly appreciate the work that you have done here. The episode notes are very interesting, and the time line of Higgins’ life fulfills a desire I’ve had for many years. I wanted to see the pieces put together—and here...

I like soccer almost as much as MPI. There have been several good matches this month. I enjoyed seeing the USA beat Mexico again. The Brazil v. Italy friendly was very entertaining. I don’t usually watch Serie A, but I did watch Inter v. AC Milan. Ronaldinho is fun to watch.
