It wasn’t destroyed that I remember but it was replaced with a later truck.

Re: MPI Al's Automotive cap.
The profile is OK, I’d almost wish it was lower profile since I’m not a 1970s truck driver. I like that it’s niche, but not obvious. But I’m actually amazed at the quality too, the one on Amazon is knitted not something glued on like I’d expect for the price. I missed getting one of yours, but was g...

Re: Episode ID #7
Thanks. I’ve been trying to remember this one too. Wasn’t even sure if I was remembering it correctly as a Magnum PI episode until I found this 10 year old similar search. Was just about ready to post a new episode I’d request. Searching Magnum and Wine turns up a lot of wine cellar discussions...

Re: MPI Al's Automotive cap.
I got one, it’s pretty good quality. The colors do run some if wet, so I ended up getting another and I wear the more worn one for runs.

And a good thing to see on the 32nd anniversary of Magnum going off the air in the original run. I sort of remember that as a kid.

Looks good, but the second ribbon can’t be a VC because the VC is the highest commendation possible and it comes up as the second ribbon. But it could be a DCM

Four, but with very carefully selected episodes: Ugliest Dog, Thank Heaven for Little Girls, etc.

Re: GMC Jimmy
Guys, is this a GMC Blazer (full sized) or a GMC Jimmy? http://magnum-mania.com/images/1_8_j_full.jpg ("The Ugliest Dog in Hawaii", January 1981) I've been calling it a Jimmy, but I've had a few people say it is a Blazer. The Jimmy in MPI was 1980 GMC K5 Sierra Classic Jimmy with part time 4 wheel ...

Re: The Chinese Typewriter
Great find! Never heard of it, but I’ll have to watch it. I guess it took a few iterations of the Selleck and Magnum idea to get it right. The red VE bug convertible in the opening is a good looking alternative to a Ferrari... well at least it is a red European convertible too...

Re: Being a WW2 vet, would Higgins really drive an Audi?
This one is hard to say. If MPI were in the 60s and 70s, there were many UK options comparable to Audi. But in the 80s, not as much. The UK auto industry (and especially the export market) was largely dead by the 80s with the remains being Rolls Royce/Bentley at the top, then Jaguar, and Rover still...

Re: Large estate photo?
Me three! I have an aerial view of the estate as the wallpaper on my computer, but I think it's actually a screen capture from Hawaii Five-O. As an alternative, there is: https://www.fantasyfloorplans.com/Fantasy-Floorplan-for-Magnum-P-I-Hawaii-Residence-of-Thomas-Magnum-P-I.html Not bad, but sone ...

Re: GMC Jimmy
Not a bad car for the islands, the roads aren't always great and there's a lot of potential off-roading. For that reason, Jeep Wranglers are popular in rental lots right now. 4 wheel drive is needed just in case you wander into someone's 'patch'. Mitch: They're growing grass. We've stumbled into th...

Re: Rick's devotion to 70s style?
Maybe because it’s Hawaii? Hawaii has good weather and a laid back feel and parts of it still look like the 80s. So the local vibe in 80s might still have been disco.
