Re: Did John Hillerman model Higgin's accent after Prince Charles?
Also: I LOVED Simon Brimmer and thought he could’ve carried his own show. He was far more entertaining than Ellery. He was definitely more entertaining than Ellery. Even Inspector Queen seemed to have more character. There is the slight problem with Brimmer getting the solutions wrong. Did he ever ...

Re: Did John Hillerman model Higgin's accent after Prince Charles?
Hillerman had a voice coach early in his career, Fanny Bradshaw, who encouraged him to listen to Laurance Olivier to cut through his Texan drawl/accent. During his stint as Simon Brimmer on Ellery Queen he was asked to alter his voice again, Hillerman apparently again relied on listening to Olivier...

They’re building a massively overbudget light rail line on Oahu now called HART.

I’d like a red Ericofon like the original Robin Masters hotline.

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
Finally got to my rewatch of this .... I also have always been just meh about this, and, agreeing with Pahonu , I think the biggest reason is Gretchen Corbett. I guess she did a good job though, we weren't supposed to like her. I'll say, on rewatch I do like it more than my memories I also agree wi...

Re: Funniest episode sub-plot
I think I have to go with the Kudu Buck sub plot. It’s one if the few that have made me laugh out loud. Another one not mentioned but I enjoy immensely is in Computer Date when Magnum trains Higgins in an attempt to make him more svelte before reuniting with his old flame. http://magnum-mania.com/i...

Re: Did You See the Sunrise? (1) (3.1)
I’m always curious about why Magnum used TC’s helicopter to start his surf ski exercise in this episode. I understand he wanted to go 6 miles, but would it not be more cost effective to simply paddle out 3 miles and then back 3 miles, rather than hire a helicopter to drop you 6 miles out? No wonder ...

Re: Being a WW2 vet, would Higgins really drive an Audi?
Hello everyone! I've been very busy lately! Mainly work in the house, the COVID crisis and the family! :D As to whether or not our dear Higgins :higgins: would have been disgusted by German luxury cars in 1980, I think not. Indeed, over the course of the episodes, this character has always demonstr...

Re: Funniest episode sub-plot
I’m going with the kudu buck also, not only because it was funny in and of itself but because it was so memorable that Magnum actually referenced it twice more in later episodes, as late as season 5!

Re: Any Maniacs
Found another one toward the end of "The Jororo Kill" when TM toasts with Kate "To scoops and front page bylines" they drink the wine and she makes a screwed up face, then TM remembers the wine party JQH is holding and asks Kate if she would like to sample a $5,000 bottle of wine.....then TC and Ri...

Re: Moki vs Keoki
Just watched the Netflix movie "Finding 'Ohana" in which Branscombe Richmond played the heroine's grandfather, Kimo. (No relation to the infamous Braddah...) Cute movie and I Googled him and was amazed to find that he had played the original Moki. Would not have recognized him! Now I gotta watch the...

I could be wrong but I feel like the only episode they really appeared in together was Transitions.
