Re: Simon & Simon Marathon on Esquire - Today!

One of these days I want to see AJ's house, just like I want to visit Pahonu. Imagine my surprise when I first learned that his house is in Venice Beach, not San Diego. :) Yeah, I don't actually feel S&S is at all a San Diego themed show anymore, (though I did originally, before there were ways to ...

... 5. Moonlighting (I didn't discover this show until about five years ago. Always thought of it more aimed at my mom's generation. First three seasons - up until Maddie gets pregnant - are awesome...the rest...meh.)... That's interesting, I was a teenager and was hooked on the show from the very ...

Re: RANK 'EM! Top 5 '80s Private Detective TV Shows ...

Thought there were more than those on the list, but my memory has faded after all these years. I would have to say, don't shoot me, but my favorite was Simon and Simon, slightly more than MPI. This was mainly just because I am from San Diego and could relate to the show more personally. Sorry for th...

Re: Mayday: Air Crash Investigations

...I'm sorry for ranting a bit but it seems the county I grew up in has had its share of unfortunate happenings, from Flight 182, the McDonalds massacre, Heavens Gate mass suicide, Santana High shootings. It does make me sad at times knowing how screwed up our world is. I don't remember the Santana...

I haven't watched that one yet, but I would assume they tow the party line. The one thing about the series is that it pretty much accepts the NTSB conclusions.

Re: Mayday: Air Crash Investigations

If it doesn't, it should include PSA Flight 182, North Park (San Diego) California, September 1978. I lived in San Diego's East County, not North Park, in '78, horrific accident, unforgettable tragedy. I remember in '96 or so, a former bandmate of mine and I were on our way to practice, I picked hi...

Mayday: Air Crash Investigations

Just discovered this a few weeks ago. I've become obsessed with this series. All the episodes seem to be available on YouTube. This series is definitely the best set of documentaries on major air disasters I've seen. Has a lot of well known ones and many lesser known but equally fascinating ones. Go...

If you do open them, I wouldn't suggest eating the gum after all these years.

Re: Speeding tickets???

I don't know, but I got a friggin' speeding ticket this morning. :(

First ticket in 15 years, and first speeding ticket in 17 years. I didn't even see the cop until he was in my mirror. I was supposedly doing 62 in a 35 zone. I didn't even realize it. :x

Re:

...I still think that MPI was a quiet hit at first and then around 1987 --towards the end--a lot of others caught on to why this show was so great. Hmm, I think kind of the opposite. After the first season or two it was quite a mainstream phenomena. By 1987 it was taking a beating in the ratings go...

I was in the 5th grade and I remember seeing the second episode when it first aired, and watched it religiously ever since. and later I watche my favorite (Simon and Simon) which was better for me since I grew up in San Diego. So I guess I have been a fan since the begining. :D I grew up in San Die...

Re: How did you get into Magnum?

During the original run, when I was in middle school, probably during summer reruns of season 1. I remember I didn't watch it until my cousin came down to stay with us for a week. He was obsessed with Ferrari's and insisted on watching the show. It must have been summer reruns because he visited dur...

Re: Moonlighting

In honor of St. Patty's Day this week, I suggest watching Moonlighting episode "Somewhere Under the Rainbow." I know it wasn't originally broadcast for St. Patrick's Day, but it easily could have been a special holiday episode. Very surprising ending when they actually do find the "rainbow." So many...
