Haha, Jesse "Sloan" indeed. Oops! Something tells me she watches more Magnum than JesseMHTR wrote:Is it just me, or does Larry Manetti's wife say Jesse Sloan instead of "Stone" at the 0:57 mark?

Re: The Tom Selleck Thread
Hi Eltonsean, Thanks for posting that great TS interview with the Manettis. I really enjoyed it. Larry mentions Joseph Cotton among the famous MPI guest stars but I think his memory understandably just faltered there. Joseph Cotton did appear in The Rockford Files but not MPI to my knowledge. Anyon...

Re: "How To Be A World Class Private Investigator" - List?
But we're forgetting one big rule TM had and expressed a lot "work the lock" that definately needs to be included in the rules. Yes, classic! :) He'd mention that in the pilot first, right? yes, he first mentions "work the lock" in the pilot episode when the dogs are chasing Magnum as he is trying ...

Re: Top 10 all-time favourite episodes
Ya, "Hotel" magnum is definitely boring. That's why I don't like watching the episode, it's not the magnum that we all love. Who wants to watch magnum getting older and needing glasses? Not me.

Re: I Do? (3.17)
Really surprised at this one's rating (8.0), definitely one of the weaker episodes of not only Season 3 but the entire series IMO. I unfortunately have to agree with you, HF. I also don't understand why this episode is rated so high. that woman actor is annoying and the bickering between her and Ma...

Re: The Last Page (2.20)
An excellent episode!! Now that I'm done with season 2 I can say that it's definitely a top 5 episode of the season. In fact probably top 3. "Memories are Forever" is easily the best of the season and "The Jororo Kill" is probably the second best. I'd probably place "The Last Page" at #3. As you ca...

Re: Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii (2) (1.2)
I agree. I don't think Rick personally dealt, but that he knew things were going on in the place, very much like Bogie. That said, being that blatant that he was running the "Snow Palace" does go against what the guys are about, especially TC. I assume it was an idea for the pilot that once the ser...

Re: Re:
I'm a fan, but I tend to find the Michelle episodes a bit too heavy. I lean more towards the light, fun episodes - but not in all cases. Memories is a great watch, but you have to be in the mood. Ya, I know what you mean, it's heavy and you have to have 1.5 hours to spare. "Memories Are Forever" is...

Re: The Absolute Worst Episodes
Good discussion, indeed, gents. I didn't mention it in this thread--I don't think--but I would definitely be one of those who dislikes Magnum's re-upping in the USN. "Two steps back", as I call it. My father was a combat infantryman in Vietnam (1969-70) and he almost never discussed his experiences...

Re: Moonlighting
Man, i miss the days when Bruce Willis was goofy, like in Moonlighting. I loved his amazing sense of comical timing! The past 20 years, his movies mostly show him fighting and being pissed off. I want the funny, goofy Bruce back that's not afraid to look silly for a laugh! I totally hear that. It's...
