2 The double-sided DVD's are problematic for certain DVD players (skipping, hanging, etc.), especially older ones.
3 The original opening title sequence and theme song have been restored for the first ten episodes (including the "Pilot Movie"). These havn't been seen or heard since the original broadcasts. In syndication runs, they were replaced with the standard Season One opening title sequence and the Post/Carpenter iconic theme song.
4 The Region 1 release has an error in the episode "China Doll" (1.3), where the musical cues are about 30 seconds off throughout much of the episode (Confirmation needed if the Region 2 version has the same error).
5 The back of the DVD jacket says "22 Explosive Episodes From The Action-Packed First Season! This is incorrect. Season One had only 18 syndicated episodes. The other four episodes are the bonus episodes that come with the set, none of which are from Season One.
6 The Region 1 DVD incorrectly names the pilot as "Please Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii".
7 The plastic trays which hold the DVDs are low quality and can cause difficulties in extracting the DVDs from the case. Some people have actually broken discs when attempting to remove them from the tray, so be careful!

2 For the first time in the DVD series, the discs are single-sided! Each disc also contains artwork on the backside. All five contain a nice shot of the Ferrari, and each has a different main cast member "head shot". Disc 1 is just the Ferrari, Disc 2 is Rick, Disc 3 is Higgins, Disc 4 is T.C. and Disc 5 is Magnum.
3 The case type is back to the Digipak (or "hub") style, which replaces the box set keep case style seen in Seasons 2-4. It should be noted that the plastic trays which hold the DVDs are much better quality than the ones used in the Season 1 set, which caused difficulties in removing the discs from the tray. The DVDs in this set can be extracted very easily.
4 Ten DVD "Sneak Peaks" are featured in this set (on Disc 1 only). The shows previewed are: American Gothic, Battlestar Galactica, Conviction, Fear Factor, House, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Las Vegas, The Munsters, The Office (U.S.) and Saturday Night Live.

5 The "Inside the Ultimate Crime Crossover" mini-documentary is six minutes long and features commentary from Angela Lansbury, Robert Swanson (MSW executive producer), Chas. Floyd Johnson (MPI producer) and Jay Huguely (MPI producer/writer).
6 There are no music licensing issues with this DVD. All of the original episode songs ("Since I Fell for You", "Mama", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight", "Looking For Space") are included in the DVDs.
7 "Novel Connection" is the original broadcast version, not the syndicated version. The syndicated version has a different ending - it wraps up the events of the story so the Murder, She Wrote crossover episode does not have to viewed.
8 "Murder by Night" is the colorized version, not the original broadcast black-and-white version.

4 In early press releases for this DVD the syndicated version of Season Seven's "Limbo" was to be included, but it never made it into the set, unfortunately.
5 The series finale "Resolutions" is the syndicated version, not the original broadcast version. Several minutes of footage are missing, including most of the Navy reunion scene at the Annapolis bar and the entire two-minute montage sequence (with clips of scenes from previous episodes) in the end credits.
